Nations Royale privacy policy
Last updated October 11, 2026
Nations Royale is made by Crest Systems, a brand of Oddsphere, LLC, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Questions about this policy go to hello@crestsystems.build.
The short version: you can play without an account, and then your progress stays in your browser. On nationsroyale.com you can also make an account to keep your progress on any device. An account needs a username, an email address and a password, or a Google sign-in. We never ask for your location. Depending on where you play, a small amount of gameplay data is sent to us or to the site hosting the game.
What is saved in your browser
Your campaign progress, medals, daily streak, best times, settings and the commander name you choose are kept in your browser's local storage. So is a random ID the game makes up for your device. It isn't tied to your identity. Clearing your browser data deletes all of it.
Accounts on nationsroyale.com
An account is optional. Without one, the game gives your browser a random commander ID in a cookie so your medals and boards can follow you while you use that browser.
- Username, email and password. We store your username, your email address and a scrambled form of your password (a salted scrypt hash). We can't read your password. Your username is shown on the public boards.
- Email. We use your email only to send you a code to confirm it and codes to reset your password. We don't send marketing and we don't share it. These emails are sent through Resend.
- Age. To make an account you're asked for your birth month and year. We use it once to check you're 13 or older and then throw it away. If you're under 13 we don't create an account and keep nothing you entered.
- Google sign-in. If you sign in with Google, we keep the account ID Google gives us. Google also tells us your email address and whether it has confirmed it. We use that only to connect your Google sign-in to an account you already made with the same confirmed email. We don't store it.
- Recovery codes. Older commanders may have a recovery code instead. We store only a scrambled form of it.
- Your saved progress. With an account, your campaign, medals, streak and settings are saved on our server so you can pick them up on another device.
- Sign-in protection. To slow down password guessing, we keep a count of wrong passwords for each username and for each network address. These counts are deleted after an hour. To stop the sign-up and reset forms being used to flood someone's inbox, we also keep a count of new accounts and emails sent for each network address and each email address. Those counts are deleted after a day.
- Unconfirmed accounts. If an email is never confirmed, after seven days we delete that account's username, email and password. Your progress stays on the commander as before.
Playing on nationsroyale.com
- Leaderboards. When a war ends, the game sends the result to our server: the date, nation, difficulty, map, time, place, troops beaten and nations eliminated, along with your device's random ID and your commander name. Results appear on the public daily and weekly boards under that commander name. Don't use your real name as a commander name if you don't want it shown.
- Run logs. A record of the orders given during a war is sent along with the result. We use it to balance the game. It doesn't contain anything about you beyond the device ID above.
- Analytics. We use self-hosted Umami analytics. It records page visits and game events such as a war starting or ending, plus your general device type, browser and country. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't store your IP address.
- Rooms. If you join a room with friends, your nation, commander name and orders are shared with the other players in that room while the war runs.
- Server logs. Like any website, our web server keeps standard request logs, which include IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting.
nationsroyale.com shows no ads.
Purchases
On nationsroyale.com you can buy an optional Supporter pack. It only changes how things look. Payment happens on Stripe's checkout page, and Stripe Managed Payments processes it and handles sales tax as the seller of record, under Stripe's privacy policy. We never see or store your card details or your email. Our server keeps your commander's ID, what you bought, the amount, the currency and Stripe's reference numbers for the payment, so the pack stays on your commander and refunds work. Purchase records are kept as long as the commander exists and as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Playing on a game portal
When you play on a portal such as Poki, CrazyGames, itch.io, Playgama, GameDistribution, GamePix or Y8, that site runs its own software around the game. It decides what ads you see and what it measures, under its own privacy policy. Please read the policy of the site you're playing on.
- Poki. The game uses only the Poki SDK, for ads and Poki's own measurement. It sends nothing to our servers. Your progress stays in your browser.
- CrazyGames. The game uses the CrazyGames SDK for ads, your CrazyGames username and saving progress to your account. It also uses ByteBrew for gameplay analytics (ByteBrew privacy policy). Results are sent to our server for the shared leaderboards, as described above.
- Playgama, GameDistribution, GamePix and Y8. The game uses that portal's own SDK for ads and analytics and sends nothing to our servers.
- itch.io. The game uses the same cookie-free Umami analytics as nationsroyale.com, reported separately.
- iPhone and iPad app. The app uses the same cookie-free Umami analytics as nationsroyale.com, reported separately, including your device's random ID. Your progress and boards stay on your device, and nothing else is sent to our servers.
Children
Nations Royale is a general audience game, and anyone can play without giving us personal information. Accounts with an email address are only for people 13 and older, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child under 13 has made an account, or a name on a leaderboard contains personal information, email us and we'll remove it.
Keeping and deleting data
To delete your account and everything tied to it, email us from the address on the account.
Leaderboard results and run logs are kept to run the boards and to balance the game. We don't sell or share them, except that the public boards show commander names and results. To have your results removed, email us with your commander name and roughly when you played.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
